Do you believe there will be a work stoppage as part of this summer's auto talks between the Detroit 3 and the UAW?
"I don't think so. The Cerberus acquisition of Chrysler will put additional pressure on the union to come to the table in a cooperative manner. General Motors and Ford have to look to Chrysler to lead the way. Those investors who come from Wall Street are looking for bottom-line results. Period.''

"I think (UAW chief) Ron Gettelfinger is trying as hard as he can to avoid that. I'd like to think there wouldn't be. But I think that the concessions that the car companies are looking for, which I believe are realistic and necessary, might come to a head.''

"I don't know. We might have the right mix of ingredients for a stoppage. My concern is that the union has been beat up in this industry as much as the car companies. I'm not sure how much more they (the union) can take. Maybe they'll be willing to test those waters.''
