QLD:LNP leads in the seat of Brisbane

BRISBANE, Aug 23 AAP - The seat of Brisbane remains Queensland's only undecided electorate
in the federal election.

The Liberal National Party's Teresa Gambaro was leading Labor incumbent Arch Bevis
by 858 votes on Monday morning.

On Sunday, Mr Bevis would not concede defeat, instead pinning his hopes on postal and
absentee votes still to be counted.

The member for Brisbane has held the seat since 1990.

The Australian Electoral Commission shows Arch Bevis with 49.32 per cent of the vote
(30,966) and Teresa Gambaro with 50.68 per cent of the vote (31,824).

Comment is being sought from both candidates.
